The Region
Languedoc-Rousillon
The Languedoc-Rousillon region is located in the South
West of France and enjoys over 300 days of sunshine each year.
Domaine de La Coume is in the Department of the Aude
(11) which is still one of the more undiscovered areas of France.
The area is characterised by small hill-top villages,
castles, spectacular scenery, hidden valleys and gorges as well
as an interesting albeit bloody history.
This
is Cathar Country and their fascination and legend
lives on in the fabric of the countryside.
Carcassone
Carcassonne is the capital of the Region and famous
for its spectacular twelfth century Cite, a medieval fortified town,
crowning a rocky crag above the river Aude. Carcassone's famous
Cite featured in the Kevin Costner epic Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.
Lake Ganguise
You can while away a few hours here sitting at the
shore line of the Ganguise or for the more sporty, you can take
part in the activities. |
